| Our friends with us on NYE |
The last year has been a great one. While there have been a lot of trials and uncertainty experienced in our country and internationally, 2016 was a year of excitement and change and great blessings for our family. According to Mama, our family has handled all these transitions much better than she and Daddy had hoped when they decided to move us out of our very comfortable home and community and into a new, unfamiliar place. We are slowing building roots in our new town; school is going well for me; and Isaiah is enjoying his final year before kindergarten while Sammy continues to grow, becoming more of a "big boy" every day (he likes to remind people often lately that "my not a baby".

We have a lot to look forward to in this upcoming year, and this weekend, we sent the old year out with a fond farewell, while welcoming some good friends for an overnight visit. Rowan, Abe, Madelynn and Norah came to visit us this weekend with their respective parents, and we had a great time. The boys had a sleepover in Z and Sam's room, while the girls stayed with me in my room. We got to play a ton, and eat some good food, and enjoyed part of a movie night before our projector bulb bit the dust. We thought we were part of all the action, although as I was finding pictures for this blog post, I discovered that apparently, after our parents sent us to bed, they partied into the wee hours of the new year morning--old people are so lame, having fun without us much too often! I hope you and yours look forward to the New Year as much as I am!
