A Sad Trip North

It is with great sadness that I report that the World's Smartest Man died this week.  Early Wednesday morning, my Grammie's Daddy--Great Papa Larry--passed on from this world into Heaven, after struggling with some recent health issues.  Our family is mourning his loss; it is a big loss, since my Great Papa was full of life and love and fun.  He lived far away, so we didn't get to see him as often as we liked, but when we did, he spoiled us rotten.  This picture up above is the last time that I got to see him, when he came to visit at our family reunion this summer.  Here he is, surrounded by a lot of the people that loved him and sitting next to the lady that made him very happy for more than 60 years of marriage.  He left a great legacy--part of that legacy is me!

There was no funeral or big announcement in the news, but mom says we will have a memorial at the cabin this summer with our extended family to remember him and spend some time loving on Great Grammie. Mom and I got to take a road trip up to see Great Grammie this weekend, and she is a very strong lady.  Make the most of every day that you have with the people you love, for we are not promised tomorrow.

Mama, Great Grammie, Grammie, and Me at the Cabin this weekend
