The autumn season is well-upon us; our yard is full of leaves in which to play...and though Mama just complains about needing to rake them up, I think they look like fun!
This weekend, we had an enjoyable time. We spent the early part of the weekend at Grammie and Papa's house, where I had the opportunity to carve pumpkins with some of my cousins and Papa. Z wasn't much help with this part, so we just carved his pumpkin for him. We all took turns drawing on the important parts that we would have Papa carve for us.
We enjoyed our time playing with Ethan, Jackson and Lydia while Braeden was off doing big kid stuff. As always, we filled up Grammie's house with noise!
After we arrived back home, we had the chance to get dressed up in our Halloween costumes and pass out special treats to a ton of children! Mama got pretzels this year instead of candy, and I passed them out while dressed as the pretzel princess (not really...I was just a princess, but it sounds kind of cool).
Isaiah was trying to help me, but mostly he was just driving me crazy picking up all my bags of pretzels and trying to run away with them. I will admit that he did figure out how to pass a few bags out, but mostly, he just caused trouble!
I passed out 280 bags of pretzels to other kids, and they were dressed up as all kinds of different things--super heros, animals, athletes, other princesses, and quite a few scary-looking people that were not my favorite!
I made Mama pass out the pretzels to the scary-looking people, but with her help, it was mostly non-scary fun! Unfortunately, Mama ran out of pretzels before trick-or-treating was done, so my fun was short-lived...Z didn't mind though, by the end of the pretzels, he had already had enough of that! He was a dinosaur (or dragon, depending on your opinion) and his costume blended into all the leaves pretty well in the dusk--we had to keep an eye on him, or he would wander off and get lost in the leaves, never to be found again!
After we put him to bed, it was dark, so we lit up our newly carved Jack-O-Lanterns--they looked pretty cool. I wish Daddy were here; last year, he carved me a Curious George pumpkin, but this year, we just did regular ones. Maybe next year, I can do another special one with my Daddy. I am looking forward to his return--Mama says we are getting close! Happy Harvest Time!
